Hope you all had a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend! This week’s Solve set was inspired by this holiday. Check out the first question:
Solve Set 39 Question 1: Ford a 5-Day Week
During the Industrial Revolution in the 1800’s, people used to work shifts lasting up to 14 hours per day, 6 days per week. The labor movement reduced shifts to 12 hours, and then to 10 hours, and down to the present 8 hours per day. Henry Ford introduced the two-day weekend in order to allow consumers more leisure time to enjoy his products, bringing us to the present 5 days per week. How does our current work week compare to the original 14 hour 6 day work week?
How did you celebrate Labor Day? Expii would like to know! 🙂
