This week’s Top Scorer is Raphael Petrosyan , a 27 year old from Armenia! He is currently a biophysics postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta.

Q: What’s one fun fact about yourself?
A: So many fun facts, hard to choose one (guess need to dive into the “best choice problem”)

Q: How did you get interested in Expii?

A: I was interested in solving math and logic problems since I was 14. And here was regulated version that provides great puzzles. Thanks for that!

Q: How do you use Expii?
A: I solve problems by periods. Generally I am thinking about different scientific problems. And suddenly one week I desperately start solving Expii problems. After that I relax and think about other problems several weeks ..

Q: What’s your math background?
A: I did my bachelor’s in physics so I had some math courses. Later I learned by myself some math areas and concepts either purely by curiosity or that were required for solving some (bio)physics problems.

Q: Do you have a favorite math concept or area?
A: This varies with time for me. Some months ago I was interested in variational calculus and probability theory. Now I am more interested in optimal transport and catastrophe theory..

Q: Anything else you want to share about yourself?
A: My height is around 1.72 m, my weight is around 62 kg. I like reading, hiking, and classical music.
