This week’s Top Score Thursday features Rohan Karthik. Karthik is 18 years old, living in Rohini, Delhi, India. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Computing at Delhi Technological University, Delhi.
Q: What’s a fun fact about yourself?
A: When I was 3, I hiked a 3000 feet mountain in Northern Norway with my family and relatives, through dense forest with no visible trails.
Q: How did you find out about Expii?
A: I first of Expii last May when an article of the announcement of the Spirit of Ramanujan Talent Initiative was featured in our local newspaper.
Q: How do you use Expii?
A: I use Expii to continue my habit of indulging myself on increasingly tougher problems that are slightly above my level of study.
Q: What is your math experience/background?
A: I started learning abacus when I was six, and my fascination of numbers has only grown ever since. As I never got much of a math exposure near my place, I am self-taught on a variety of mathematical topics searching online, or through problem solving sites, like MSE or Expii.
Q: What is your favorite area of math?
A: I love trigonometry and algebra very much; otherwise I usually delve into the history and the various developments on the unsolved mathematical problems.
Q: Anything else you would like to share?
A: I love watching all kinds of sport, and I love talking to people (!).
